Chef Jack Flaws left acclaimed Hartford kitchens — Max Downtown, Three Fish, Jack's Saybrook Steak — and opened on Main Street serving burgers, wings, and milkshakes. The Hartford Courant put it best: "What happens when one of Connecticut's better chefs goes downscale? Good things."
The wings that earned a reputation
Every order is brined, slow-roasted, cooled, flash-fried, and sauced — nothing casual about it. The Hartford Courant named them among Connecticut's Kings of Wings, and Best Hot Dog on the Shoreline proves the obsession extends beyond wings.

Next door, The Rabbit Hole runs on the same kitchen but adds a full bar, a jukebox, and every game on TV. Family-friendly counter on one side, neighborhood bar on the other — one address, two great spots.
A new chapter, same heart
In June 2025, two local families — the Eckerts and the Trippconeys — took the reins with 20+ years of hospitality experience and deep Old Saybrook roots. The food and warmth you love are still here, just a little more personal.
